3 Reasons to Use Customised Sheet Metal HVAC Fabrication

Hello, my name is Ian and this is my industrial manufacturing blog. I do not work in the manufacturing business myself, but I have always taken a keen interest in the industry. I subscribe to International Industrial Manufacturing Magazine. I also like to visit my friend Ted who runs an industrial plant on the outskirts of Perth, Australia. He lets me walk around the place and explains what is going on. I have learnt lots of cool and useful things about manufacturing so I decided to write a blog so I could share my vast knowledge with the rest of the world.

3 Reasons to Use Customised Sheet Metal HVAC Fabrication

If you are installing a new HVAC system, then you can buy off-the-shelf ductwork. You buy the pieces you need to build the system to your specifications. However, you can also make a customised solution here. You can use a sheet metal HVAC fabrication manufacturer to construct the components you need to your exact specification.

What are the advantages of taking a customised route?

1. Get a Better Fit

If you buy off-the-shelf ductwork, then your system has to conform to certain sizes. You won't necessarily be able to build a system with a perfect fit. For example, you might end up with a system that is too big or small for your heating and cooling needs. Your system might take up more room if you have to find ways to make complex turns or to deal with acute angles.

If you use custom sheet metal fabrication, then your supplier can help you plan the build. They can then create metal ductwork sheets that are exactly the right size for your specifications. Your HVAC system will fit your space and your needs more effectively.

2. Reduce System Leaks

If you buy ready-made HVAC components and they don't fit together perfectly, then your heating and cooling might not run efficiently. Ducts and sheets might move slightly out of place over time. They might never really fit together tightly enough to create a good seal. If this happens, then the air that runs through your system could leak out of gaps. You'll lose cooled or heated air before it can be delivered. Your system will cost more to run.

If you choose a custom build, then all your sheets and ducts fit together perfectly. Your seals work. So, the system will work efficiently and you won't pay for wasted energy costs.

3. Speed up Your Installation

While you can cobble an HVAC system together using different parts from different manufacturers, your build might take more time. You'll have to spend time working out how to run the system in areas with a difficult fit. Plus, you might have to wait longer for all your parts to be delivered if they come from different sources. You then have to work out how to fit everything together.

A custom build is delivered all at once. Every part has been manufactured to an exact specification. So, it'll be easier and quicker to put together.
